Just shoot the damn ball!

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

I am writing in frustation and desperation with what’s happening between the Alaska Aces and Purefoods Giants. I mean, being the top defensive team this season, Giants should have eaten Alaska Aces alive in 4 games. They have shown this mark twice in this playoff season with this story.
Coach Ryan Gregorio should be telling his men to shoot the damn ball with brute force and try shooting it with high percentage shots.
If Purefoods are goin to win 2 in a row then  ill be watching the All Filipino live in Araneta.

2-1
Last nights game was predictable. Predictable in a sense that James Yap/ Roger Yap will save the day for the Giants-whose-backs-are-against-the-wall basketball team. However, last nights game was a total team effort. Everybody contributed and the defense was awesome by fourth quarter Alaska was throwing away the ball 19 times compared to the Giants 6 turnovers. Ahh, if the Giants will win Game 4 then we have a ballgame. Count me in on Game 6 or Game 7.

What works for you may not work for me

I was reading this article on a magazine about the internet billionaires and the accompanying sins and graces that followed it. Upto now after nine (9) years of being online I have yet to understand what’s out there (aside from online spam and advertising and software deployment and transactions) and how to make money out of it.

Now that my masters is over and I think I may have stumbled onto something that may work perfectly (IT). Come July, I will regroup and get back to the drawing board and re-invent the wheel.

All i need is to re-train my mind and be flexible for all concepts and ideas. Honestly, I dont beliove that you cant teach old dogs some new tricks.

VIOLENT REACTIONS:

Honestly, I dunno whats running inside Cory’s mind but Im really disappointed with her on this article  right here. I mean, how can she stop us poor people from leaving if there’ s no opportunity down here. Wala ba sya sa katinuan para sabihin itong mga ito?

"Aquino noted that the country faces a big problem over "being a world supplier "of medical and health care professionals.

"The dearth of medical and other professionals will certainly
impact negatively on a country’s economic health like other social cost
such as broken families brought about by distance and the long years of
separation and children raised by extended families," she said.
Oh c’mon Mrs. Aquino, the philippines is 84million strong people, why bother the health (financially and emotionally) if our country is over populated.

SPANKIN’ NEW AIRPORT

I envy Thailand coz on september they will be opening their new airport as posted on this article right here, while us pinoys are still waiting for the opening of NAIA3. Damn RP Government.

Learn and earn

Now that my masters is done, i was thinking of taking short courses in order to reinforce and challenge myself to new heights. I know I can make my thesis prototype by using some of the software/s and programs on my list that I would like to take every saturday:
1. Primavera/ MS Project
2. C#
3. Excel VBA
4. Visual Basic/ Database programming.
5. Autocad - re-training lang cguro
All i need is money. On the 30th will be my last day on DMCI-PDI (Dansalan Building) so I will be bumming again (professionally). Im glad that I have somthing to lean on and practice what I learned in school. Im wishing and praying to Big Guy Upstairs to grant my ambition of migration.

Movies
The Buried Secret Of M. Night Shyamalan–I propose that everybody should watch this over at HBO. Try catching it if you can. Its a fresh take on doing documentary.
The Lake House– I have to give it to Alessandro Agresti for his version of Il Mare. This deserves another viewing.
CARS–Nice characters and visuals.

Careers
I might be changing careers from this point forward. Im considering IT. I think IT+ Civil Engg is a powerful combo. My friend RJ told me that IT+ CE has yet to break out from its traditional set-up.

Basketball
Thank goodness that Miami won it on 6th inside Mavs territory. Applause for Dwyane Wade for trying to emulate Michael Jordan. Try watching the replays and all of his shots are so Jordanesque. Maybe LeBron and Kobe are not the heir apparent after all.

Today is the second game between the Aces and the Giants. PF Giants have a new acquisition in Don Camaso. In fact me and Apple should be watching that match but work got in the way so ill just watch it on tv instead. Ihanda na ang chichirya at lambanog!

Post-Bday
I had a great time spending two solid days with Apple and the more we spend time together the more it gets interesting. Honey, please remind me to bring along a Soju bottle and barbecue when we hit the road on the 25th. I love you.

Championship season na naman sa PBA mga pare.
The winner of tonight’s game (Ginebra n Red Bull) will face the San Miguel Beermen for Semis
on the other side its my team Purefoods against Alaska.
This season, Alaska has yet to beat PF (0-2) for some reason. Come sunday its gonna be all war!
Alaska, with its new acquisition (ferriols, miller n somebody) will be battling it out with the well-rested, injury plagued PF Giants.Im sure the semis series will be tough as the Giants dedicate every game to their fallen comrade Eugene Tejada, whom I think was the next Alvin Patrimonio in terms of effort. The guy was a monster inside the paint until the accident that fractured and dislocated his spine-Tj Hotdogs News,PBA News
By far, this has got to be the most freakiest accident ive seen on the PBA after Rudy Distrito made sahod to Jeffrey Cariaso way back in the 90’s.

Pba

Hey its game4 between the Mavs n Heat and ill be watching it on cable.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Planes
Hmm, thinking about the Siargao Trip, I might go there on the closing days of my work in DMCI and after celebrating my 1st anniversary with her.Mark_n_apple_inside_mall_of_asia_2
Id like to see how it looks like today. Last i heard was that my father made alot of infrastructure down there that got the attention of the locals (inland and interisland) and foreigners alike and Im going to be there.

Trains
Ill be taking the dailly commute (the jeep-tricycle-mrt route) for the time that my car is being repaired. It will be all sweaty from this day till June30th. Sorry honey, might have to leave a couple of shirts in your flat one of these days.

Automobiles
I will be bringing in the car tomorrow for a comprehensive check up and oil change at Prestige Cars.

Mall rats paradise
SM Mall of Asia is the place to be for all mall rats out there. nice and clean place. it is definitely massive and ground hugging. Let’s support the cause by bringing in our tourist friends to visit this place. Its got a potential to be like that super large mall in Shenzen. Our SM Mall of Asia is a great alternative.
Mark_in_mall_of_asia
Apple_in_mall_of_asia_2  Apple and I played around with the facade of the mall and tried taking pictures and scaled it. People were staring when we were taking these pix and "para daw kaming turista" - oh cmon guys, it cant be that bad. At least be proud of what you have. I know I am.

Old Hotel, Bad Service, No Tips
I was the bestman in Tolits wedding last Jun3 and we checked in on Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon Ave. The place is old, poorly maintained and the staff are either new, rude and uncaring for guests.
The room is cool though. I enjoyed my brief stay at the hotel and spent the whole day sleeping or watching TV.

Independence Day
Hmm, I really deserve this holiday break. I woke up late with a sore upper body and hungry tummy and sweaty shoulders.I did some groceries with my mom and watched CARS alone. I saw my old professor back in MIT named DEAN JOSE RIZAL SANEDRIN with her daughter. I also saw my DMCI boss while i gorged into 3pcs of pandesal and 2pcs pan de coco topped with a medium cup of joe’s from dunkin donuts. u have got to see this sign:Putok

SEASON ENDER

Monday, June 5th, 2006

I had a chance to view the last two episodes of CSI Las Vegas this season and like last year, It was Capt. Jim Brass’ time to go.
The last episode also confirmed what everybody was waiting for, the love story behind Grissom and Sarah (and what was left of it). On the last scene, they were caught talking on robes inside a hotel room and how they preferred to die.
This season ender is something to look forward for all CSI fans out there, there’s no way that you will let this pass up.

Its another tuesday and its 24 days to go before I leave Dansalan Gardens. It would have been more insane had it not been for Apple, my partner. Its great to know that somebody is there to keep you grounded and I love her for that.
